Biography

A songwriter for television series, documentaries, and commercials, Alejandra Jimenez ’13 is a Colombian songwriter, composer, and producer who has established an impressive resume for a young musician. Jimenez has been studying music since she was six-years-old. She won her first award for songwriting at age 18 and went on to receive a bachelor of music degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia. Subsequently, she moved to Boston to attend Berklee on a full scholarship from the Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers.

While at Berklee, Jimenez won the Outstanding Student award for the Contemporary Writing and Production Department in 2012 and took part in multiple concerts and festivals. She continued to earn accolades for her music after leaving Berklee; two years after graduating, she was a finalist in the Latin music category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Jimenez has studied with an array of renowned singers, arrangers, and songwriters, including Berklee faculty Anne PeckhamLoudon Stearns, and Jon Aldrich. She has written music for shows such as Vanderpump Rules and Game Changers, and for such well-known brands as McDonald’s and Crest. In addition, she teaches lessons on topics such as mixing and mastering, songwriting, and audition preparation online at Lessonface.com, where her goal is to support and encourage her students to practice hard and dream big.
