Building upon the foundational knowledge gained in GAIM-265, this course delves deeper into the dynamic world of music and sound design for virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and extended reality (XR). Through a blend of theoretical insights and hands-on experiences, students will master advanced techniques to seamlessly synchronize audio with the immersive VR/AR/XR environments. GAIM-365 introduces students to industry-standard tools like Unity and FMOD, enabling them to craft captivating soundscapes that elevate the immersive experience. Moreover, students will embark on a creative journey to conceptualize and construct their own virtual worlds. They will learn to build a simple VR experience from the ground up, transforming their ideas into fully realized immersive environments, complete with an interactive spatial soundtrack.
