Katrina Zaicek
Katrina Zaicek (she/her) joined the Student Success Advising team in June of 2022. She has worked in a variety of educational settings, first as a preschool teacher and nanny, then as a school guidance counselor, and most recently as a student success advisor at a neighboring university in Boston, where she provided holistic support to first-year international students. She feels most at home in academic advising, where she cherishes each opportunity to guide her students as they explore their passions and ultimately grow into the most authentic version of themselves. With a background in school counseling, Zaicek follows a strengths-based advising philosophy; she focuses on the positives in any given situation and her students can always count on her to be their personal cheerleader.
Since joining Berklee, Zaicek has been instrumental in reimagining the Student Advising Mentor (SAM) Program as a helpful and meaningful resource for Berklee students at every stage in their college career. As a SAM supervisor, she leads the social media team in curating the @berkleesuccessadvising Instagram account and @BerkleeSAMs Youtube account, which Zaicek developed as fun, informative tools to engage with current and prospective students. Zaicek is also the marketing lead for the Student Success Advising team.
Zaicek holds an M.A. in educational psychology with a focus in school counseling from the University of Connecticut, and a B.A. in psychology from Binghamton University, State University of New York. Her educational background is firmly rooted in social justice and equitable student care, and she will always go above and beyond to ensure her students’ unique needs are being met.
When not at Berklee, you can find Zaicek binging workplace comedies with her two cats, Tutti and Otis, tending to her many house plants, collecting funky earrings, and zipping around Boston on her electric scooter.
