Toni Vaquer and the Voodoo Children
The main objective of the Voodoo Children Collective, an orchestra created by Toni Vaquer, is to explore the sound and concept of big band music.
The band seeks storytelling pieces, incorporating musical elements that don’t necessarily belong to jazz, such as rock rhythms, folk melodies, or classical harmony.
The collective blossomed in spring 2014 with a collaboration of musicians from New England Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. Later, Vaquer brought the project to Barcelona, Spain, where the band recorded the CD Toni Vaquer and the Voodoo Children Collective, Volume 1. This may be the group's final performance at Berklee.
