Join us for a conversation with Sean P. Hagon, chair of the Professional Music Department at Berklee College of Music, followed by a short solo performance by professional music major Brooks Robertson.
A fingerstyle guitarist, Robertson already is making a name for himself in the music industry. He has been hailed by prominent guitarists such as Nokie Edwards, Thom Bresh, Richard Smith, Tommy Emmanuel, John Jorgenson, and Mason Williams. Utilizing superb technical abilities to play bass, rhythm, and melody simultaneously, the Eugene, Oregon, native surpasses the borders of conventional genres.
Robertson has received many awards, including Best Emerging Artist in Portland, Oregon, by The Deli magazine; Thumbpicking Recording of the Year and the Horizon Award by the National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame; a Yamaha fellowship to the Crown of the Continent Guitar Festival; and the Jimmy Lyons Scholarship at Berklee.
