Berklee Silent Film Orchestra Rehearses The Freshman
Please see the events listing for upcoming events.
The Berklee Silent Film Orchestra, under the direction of Artistic Director Sheldon Mirowitz, will conduct an hour-long open rehearsal featuring a 15-minute excerpt from its new score to Harold Lloyd's silent classic film The Freshman. During the rehearsal, which is free and open to the public, Mirowitz will explain and demonstrate some of the musical sleight of hand that helps make movie magic. The event will be in preparation for the full show that evening at 7:00 p.m. (tickets available here), during which the Berklee Silent Film Orchestra (BSFO) will perform, live-to-picture, its new original score to the film.
One of the first 50 films chosen for preservation by the Library of Congress, The Freshman is one of comic genius Harold Lloyd’s most successful and enduring films. The evening film screening/orchestral concert will be the first New York showing of The Freshman with a live, large ensemble in more than a decade.
Please reserve seating for the 4:00 p.m rehearsal.
