Sharon Broadley-Martin, professor of contemporary music writing and production, knows that the right music can rally amp-up a workout. The trick, she says in an interview with Boston magazine, is building a playlist of songs based on their beats per minute (BPM) for warming up, pushing the limits, and cooling down. She curated tracks from Michael Jackson, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Twisted Sister, and more to show how the right sequence of songs with the right BPM can motivate a more powerful workout.
