Berklee Popular Music Institute

The Berklee Popular Music Institute (BPMI) at Berklee College of Music is the world's premiere institute for practical application of music industry knowledge and skills, with a focus on live events and touring.

The cornerstone of the Berklee Popular Music Institute (BPMI) is BPMI Live, a unique three-semester experiential education program, which Billboard Magazine has named one of the top music business programs in the world. BPMI Live students apply the foundational knowledge learned in their classrooms to experiences on tour at some of the largest music festivals in the world. Participants in the prestigious program interface with all facets of the music industry, including A&R, artist development, booking, promotion, social media, sponsorship, and touring.

Courses in BPMI's Business of Live Music minor are taught by top industry executives whose experiences in contemporary industry practices and trends are integrated into cutting-edge curricula that prepare BPMI students for extraordinary career opportunities in today's live events industries.

"BPMI gave me the tools to be a problem-solver, a self-thinker, and learn how to work as a team. Ultimately, this experience helped lay the foundation for the skills that will be required of me in my role as a marketing coordinator at RCA Records. BPMI has been the highlight of my Berklee career, and I would recommend it to any students if they want to have a career in the industry. This is a perfect way to start."—Jourdan Washington ‘19
