David Allen Flowers is a music director and conductor in Boston and an assistant professor at Berklee College of Music. He has collaborated with the Arlington Children’s Theatre, the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston, the New School of Music, and the education departments at the Ogunquit Playhouse and Chicago Opera Theater. He holds a Master of Music in orchestral conducting studies from Penn State University, where he directed the Penn State Campus Orchestra and assistant conducted the Penn State Philharmonic and Chamber orchestras. He has also served as assistant conductor for the Savoyaires and the Ridgeville Band of Evanston. He can occasionally be found serving as a guest-teaching composer, writing songs with and for public school students. As a conductor he focuses on the orchestral repertoire of 20th century Black composers and on 20th and 21st century music more generally.
