Conducting 2
The course assumes basic conducting technique and covers three areas:  first, symphonic conducting with an instrumental soloist (concerto); second, symphonic conducting with a vocal soloist; and third, symphonic conducting of a major modern work involving frequent meter changes. Works used include a romantic instrumental concerto, an operatic aria, and a mixed-meter piece such as Petrouchka, L’Histoire du soldat, or The Rite of Spring.
