Yulia Musayelyan Quartet
The Yulia Musayelyan Quartet combines modern jazz harmonies, odd meters, and improvisation with folkloric styles from Argentina, Armenia, Russia, and other cultures, seeking to bridge distant traditions. The instrumentation is flute (piccolo, bass flute, and Armenian duduk), piano, bass, and drums.
The Armenian Mirror-Spectator writes, “[Musayelyan] grooves as if she were a dual-native, balancing somewhere between Armenia and Argentina.”
