A singer, composer, arranger, and educator, Wade is a professor at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and was just recently appointed to Peabody Institute.
Known for expert vocal improvisational ability and her seriously swinging groove, Charenée Wade evokes a classic jazz sound akin to Betty Carter and Sarah Vaughan, two of her musical touchstones.
The Gathering is an ongoing series presented by the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice. Events are open to the greater Berklee community and public, and will feature performances, guest lectures, workshops, and discussions with gender equity as a guiding principle.
