Research to Practice in Music Education and Autism 1
This seminar brings together students in the graduate programs in music education (autism concentration) for intensive study of the teaching and learning of music with individuals on the autism spectrum.
The course has four components: practical work with students on the autism spectrum (in students’ current teaching positions, or in the arts education programs of the Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education); observations of teaching and learning in music—and other related arts—with students on the autism spectrum (in the arts education programs of the Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education, or in partnership schools and classrooms); readings and class discussions; and guest speakers and workshops on various related areas.
