Game and Interactive Audio Practicum

Description

This course is a workshop designed to immerse sound design students in a professional-level collaboration working with game developers and composers on independent game and interactive media projects. Students will create and implement sound effects, dialog, and music assets for these projects. Weekly deliverables will be shared in class for discussion and critique. Special emphasis will be placed on playtesting, iterative design, implementation, mix techniques, creative problem-solving and workflow efficiency in a game development team. Students will use industry standard middleware and programming techniques. The class will meet concurrently with Berklee’s Game and Interactive Media Scoring course, GAIM-483: Game and Interactive Media Scoring Practicum. Combined class meetings will be held throughout the semester. Admission to the course is by application.
