Advanced Seminar

Course Number
EP-401
Description

A precursor to EP-491 Advanced Projects in Electronic Production and Design, this course combines masterclass and private lesson formats to support the creative and professional development of EPD majors. In masterclass sessions, students will engage in portfolio reviews, group critiques, and focused technical instruction. Discussions will center on composition, music production, and the integration of music and sound design across a range of fields—including visual media, games, immersive environments, installations, electronic performance, and hardware or software product design—reflecting each student’s individual interests and specialization.

Students will refine their artistic voices through the creation of original works that express their creative identities and professional goals. The private lesson component provides individualized mentoring to help students prepare professional-level portfolios and transition effectively into EP-491 Advanced Projects. Business and career strategies relevant to today’s creative technology industries will also be explored.
