Mixing for the Producer I

Course Number
CMSP-550
Description

This course teaches students to approach production with a mixing mindset, covering traditional mixing concepts—frequency management, dynamic range, and spatial balance—to enhance their production skills. Students will develop critical listening skills to identify and address mix issues early, improving efficiency and creative decision-making throughout the production process. Hands-on exercises and projects provide practical experience in applying these techniques, emphasizing how planning for the final sound from the initial stages of songwriting and production leads to more effective mixes.
