East Asian Folk Fusion Ensemble

The East Asian Folk Fusion Ensemble is a musical journey blending traditional (and original) east Asian melodies arranged in groove, improvisational, and microtonal contexts. This is the result of working with Chinese virtuoso Yazhi Guo who is a master on the suona (Chinese Oboe) and hulusi (triple-bore flute), and who also plays dizi, guanxi, ocarina, sheng, and more. After ten years of rehearsing, analysis, experimentation, recording, and touring, the result is a repertoire of traditional melodies (like Golden Snake, Da Zao, and The Villain) performed in Western arrangements mixed with originals and covers/standards, such as Afro Blue, Ying Hua (Fiuczynski), and Orange Mound (MonoNeon).
