Thomas M. Palance is known for versatility as a trumpet player and as an innovative teacher. He retired from the U.S. Navy Band in Washington, D.C. after 20 years of holding the positions of assistant principal trumpet, and soloist with the Commodores Jazz Band. He presently resides in Massachusetts, where he is a performer, composer, conductor, and teacher. He has created collaborative artistic projects using animators, dancers, artists, photographers, and poets. 

Career Highlights
  • Recordings include Don't Lose Your Tail with the Crawdads and Reflecting Forward with the Palance/Wolff Project
  • Performances with Soul City, the Tom Palance Jazz Ensemble (as leader), the Orchestra on the Hill (as conductor), and the Navy Band Commodores (as a soloist)
  • Studied with Robert Stibler, Hal Galper, Mike Metheny, Steve Hendrickson, and Clark Terry
