Pianist, composer, and Berklee and Harvard Piano Professor Laszlo Gardony invited Stan Strickland and Christian Artmann to join his long-standing trio for this concert.
Boston icon, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Strickland is long-time collaborator with Gardony. Artist, flutist, and composer Artmann first made a name for himself in New York before moving to San Francisco, where he continues to earn accolades for his recordings and performances.
Gardony’s trio includes John Lockwood (bass) and Yoron Israel (drums). All members of the group have recorded for Sunnyside Records. Strickland appears on two Gardony albums, while Gardony is featured two of Artmann's releases; on the latest one, Lockwood and Israel are also featured. Gardony, Lockwood, and Israel—as Gardony's trio—recorded six albums for Sunnyside, and Gardony is featured on three of Israel's albums.
