Alan Montaño is a composer, arranger, and pianist from the San Francisco Bay area, with family roots in Mexico. He is currently studying jazz composition and film scoring at Berklee College of Music. In the Montaño Quartet, Montaño will feature a set of engaging original compositions and exciting tunes that reflect his passion for jazz, Latin music, and the fusion of diverse cultural influences. Montaño was awarded this year’s ASCAP Foundation Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award for his Afro-Cuban jazz piece, “Square One,” performed by his very own big band, the Montaño Big Band.
Montaño Quartet will be performing as part of Berklee’s Summer in the City 2026 concert series. View series schedule.
