Artist Development through Electronic Music Production

Course Number
EP-375
Description

This course explores artist development through the lens of sound design, composition, and electronic music production. Students will dive deeply into their personal creative practices, producing new music weekly while analyzing their processes, creative habits, and artistic results. Class readings and discussions will encourage critical reflection on what it means to build a sustainable and authentic practice as an electronic music producer.

Hands-on production assignments will challenge students to experiment across genres, refine their sound design approach, and identify the techniques and mindsets that help them create work aligned with their artistic vision. Emphasis will be placed on developing consistency, creative self-awareness, and the ability to connect one’s musical ideas to personal artistic goals and professional aspirations.
