This elective course expands on the core courses of the Songwriting major and how they apply to the art and craft of Nashville style songwriting, focusing on storytelling, clever hooks, co-writing, performing, and collaborating with artists and producers. Students will explore the Nashville music industry, including writing beyond country music, networking, working with publishers or independently, artist development, and brand development. Emphasizing that in Music City, the song is the core of the music industry, this course combines practical projects and industry insights to prepare students for a career in songwriting
