Liam Elion
Liam Elion is a trombonist, bassist, and composer. Originally from Israel, now based in Stockholm, Sweden, he is graduating from Berklee College of Music with a full-tuition scholarship awarded by the school. He started playing the trombone at the age of nine, initially learning classical music at the conservatory, playing local concerts and touring abroad in Russia and Portugal with the Kfar-Saba Wind Orchestra. He went on to attend the prestigious jazz program at the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts. Consequently he toured Dallas, Texas; Paris, France; and Stuttgart, Germany. After finishing high-school, Liam joined the Israel Conservatory Tel Aviv CJS Big-Band, where he played lead trombone, sharing the stage with acclaimed musicians such as Anat Cohen. At Berklee he has been studying closely with Kenny Werner, Steve Davis, Tony Malaby, Edmar Colon, Kris Davis, as well as George Garzone, John Patitucci, Ben Street, Danilo Pérez, and many more.
