Sampling for Advanced Instrument Design
This course covers all aspects of creating authentic sampled musical instruments such as acoustic and electric pianos, guitars, drums, basses, orchestral, and world instruments for playback on a range of audio platforms including virtual instruments, embedded devices such as hardware synthesizers, mobile devices and game systems and common game audio integreation platforms such as WWise, and FMod. Specific areas of focus include studio recording techniques for capturing the full range of an instrument’s capabilities, DSP processing of sampled material including noise reduction and looping techniques, advanced keymapping and patch creation techniques, and integration into common industry playback platforms, including software scripting for virtual instruments and game audio platforms for games.
