Build and Ship a Music App

Course Number
ICE-315
Description

In today’s digital landscape, artists are no longer reliant on third parties to create the tools they need to grow their careers. With access to low-code and no-code platforms and entrepreneurial resources, musicians now have the power to design, build, and launch their own applications—solving real-world challenges and fueling sustainable success.

This course provides a hands-on, interdisciplinary introduction to application development, business design, and go-to-market strategy through the lens of the creative industries. Students will learn how to identify problems faced by artists, develop viable solutions, and ship functional tools, regardless of prior coding or business experience. Along the way, they will build core competencies in product thinking, entrepreneurship, design, and marketing. The course culminates in a tangible portfolio project that can serve as a foundation for future career or startup pursuits.
