Sung, winner of the Kennedy Center’s Mary Lou Williams Piano Competition and 2019 Jazz Artist-in-Residence for Columbia University’s Zuckerman Institute, has worked with jazz luminaries including the late Clark Terry, Wayne Shorter, Regina Carter, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Cécile McLorin Salvant. The native of Houston, Texas, graduated from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance (at New England Conservatory) and maintains a rigorous schedule of performing, touring, recording, and teaching from her home base in New York City.
Thomas is a jazz saxophonist from Baltimore, Maryland. He was a member of Jack DeJohnette’s Special Edition band and has worked with John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, and Miles Davis, among many others. Thomas was director and chair of jazz studies at Johns Hopkins University.
