David Robinson
David Robinson, a singer-songwriter and performer born in Chicago and raised in Los Angeles, has been writing his own music since he was 14. He draws from musical influences such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Kendrick Lamar, and Lauryn Hill.
Robinson takes his inspiration to make music from his grandmother, Connie Black, who was a musical child prodigy asked to tour at the age of 5. He wants to ensure that her legacy continues. Currently, Robinson is working on his sophomore album, which will be released this summer. Robinson enrolled at Berklee College of Music at age 17 and began drafting his sophomore album, Millennial, released the following year. Fresh off of the release of his newest single, “DRIVE,” Robinson is an artist to be watched.
