Description
The purpose of this class is to familiarize students with music and software that will enhance the teaching of K-12 music in three specific areas: using technology outside of class to prepare instructional materials; using a teacher station to present technology-enhanced lessons; and using technology in a computer/MIDI lab. This course is part one of the required technology training for music education majors. It provides an overview of technology in music education; concepts for developing curriculum and resources using music technology in the K-12 general music classroom; the use of DAW software (Digital Audio Workstation; otherwise known as sequencing); the use of notation software; and the use of iPads in the K-12 music classroom.
