Description
A detailed analysis of the inner workings of music publishing companies, with emphasis on the role of the publisher in the acquisition, licensing, and administration of copyrighted musical works (songs). Topics include copyright registration and renewal, contractual relationships with songwriters, and an analysis of domestic and international licensing of the publisher's catalog through recordings, print, performance rights, as well as video (motion pictures, television, advertisements,etc.). Relationships with foreign affiliates and sub-publishers are also covered.
