Description

The Vocal Music of Africa Ensemble studies and performs the music of African contemporary artists. Under the guidance of the course instructor, vocalists experience singing in a variety of indigenous African languages. They are accompanied by a full rhythm section and horns when needed. This course emphasizes stylistic integrity and melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic accuracy. Rehearsals will take place once a week for the entire semester culminating with a performance.
