Department Diversity Statement

The Screen Scoring Department at Berklee College of Music understands that culture and history include significant forces that lead to the underrepresentation of certain groups in our field. We are committed to examining and updating the film and video game scoring curriculum to better reflect and represent underrepresented and marginalized groups. We are also committed to hiring faculty members who are more representative of the diverse screen scoring student population, as well as attracting a more diverse cohort of students to the major. The pursuit of these objectives will result in a more effective and successful program, which will better prepare our students for lifelong careers in film and video game scoring.
