Zayra Pola was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She started playing percussion and drums at a very young age, and after finishing her degree, she was named "La Timbalera graduada de Berklee." She has shared the stage with people including Gilberto Santa Rosa, Luis Enrique, Larry Harlow, Giovanni Hidalgo, and Cheo Feliciano, among others.
