Trace Zacur Quintet
Led by the explosive tenor saxophone sound of Trace Zacur, this group delivers a jazz and pop set list that is as eclectic as it is entertaining.
From pop covers to jazz, the Trace Zacur Quintet takes audiences on a journey of rhythm and soul. Backed by fellow Berklee College of Music musicians—Brad Williamson on bass, Gabe Childs on guitar, Carles Pereira Jr. on drums, and Jason Park on piano—this highly skilled group is committed to delivering high-energy performances. “We like to engage the audience through the familiar, and then take them to places they have never been,” Zacur said.
Currently a performance major at Berklee College of Music, Zacur honed his skills on stages in the Tampa Bay, Florida, area beginning at age of 14. His range, versatility, and improvisation skills earned him a reputation as an authentic and exciting stage presence. Zacur was a recipient of the Bill Pierce Scholarship Award for outstanding achievement in the Woodwind Department.
“I love to play,” said Zacur. “I love music. I see it as a language with no limits. My heroes are Herbie Hancock, Michael Brecker, James Carter, and countless others who ... push the boundaries of music and themselves to keep exploring the possibilities.”
