Yağmur Soydemir

Yağmur Soydemir is a concert flutist, studio recording artist, composer, arranger, and educator. Soydemir has received multiple awards in international solo flute and chamber music competitions throughout Europe. Her talent was also recognized by the Jazz Society of Turkey, who awarded her the Turkish Jazz Talent of the Year Scholarship in 2020. This year, she assumes the role of a jury panel member for the Outstanding Turkey Jazz Music Competition. She holds a bachelor's degree in music in classical flute performance from Nice Conservatory in France, a professional diploma with a dual major in contemporary writing and production and jazz performance from Berklee College of Music, and a master's degree in music in contemporary performance from Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where she was awarded with a full-tuition scholarship twice. 

Soydemir has performed in numerous symphony orchestras, solo and chamber music concerts, and in radio and television programs in Turkey and Europe. In addition to her classical music career, she has performed with her own jazz band, in jazz big bands, and at various genre showcases held at venues including Berklee Performance Center, MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, the Boston Turkish consulate's residence, and in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island state houses. As a composer and arranger, her works for small ensemble and orchestra have been performed in Turkey, Europe, and the U.S. 

As a humanitarian activist, Soydemir has volunteered with several community service projects, performed in outreach concerts, and also coproduced a humanitarian project titled Earthquake Relief Project for Türkiye, which involved 80 musicians from 30 countries, and for which she was awarded a diversity and inclusion grant by Berklee College of Music. Currently, apart from performing live shows, recording in studios, composing, and arranging, she also offers online and in-person flute lessons.
