Dart Mortis, known professionally as Lord Mortis, is a Boston-based pianist and composer. He began his musical journey after displaying the rare gift of perfect pitch, and had his first live performance at the age of three. He has won top honors in numerous international competitions. By 17, he had already recorded his first collaborative album, Catharsis, and performed at major festivals worldwide.

Mortis earned a full scholarship at Berklee College of Music, where he continued to excel in performance, production, and music business. He has led several innovative projects, including his neo-soul group, Lord Mortis Society; released a single, “Been Wondering;” co-lead hip-hop project Loud Life; co-composed with neo-soul singer Augustina on her albums Terapia and Deja Vu; and collaborated with renowned musicians such as Taron Lockett, Lenora Helm Hammonds, David Binney, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Stephanie McKay, and Darren Barrett. Mortis has also performed in iconic venues including Carnegie Hall and NAMM.

Alongside his work as a performer and recording artist, Mortis has worked as a production assistant for legendary rapper Jeezy  on his TM:101 tour and for Color of Noize orchestra led by Derrick Hodge. Mortis has also shared his expertise through private teaching, master classes, and residencies, while continually pushing musical boundaries in jazz, hip-hop, gospel, and R&B.

Lord Mortis will be performing as part of Berklee’s Summer in the City 2026 concert series. View series schedule.
