Diego Herrera is a Peruvian saxophonist and composer creating original music that blends Latin genres with contemporary R&B and pop elements, resulting in a fresh, elegant, and highly distinctive sound. His work is an intersection of tradition and modernity, offering a unique fusion that feels both authentic and easy to listen to.
In January of this year, Herrera completed his second fully sold-out tour in Peru, further establishing himself as a strong presence within the Latin jazz fusion and instrumental R&B scene. He is currently in his seventh semester at Berklee College of Music, where he continues to refine his sound and develop his vision as a bandleader and composer.
His live show and artistic concept invites listeners on a nocturnal journey through the streets, sounds, and traditions of Latin America, presented in an instrumental, romantic, and cinematic way. His project is further enriched through collaborations with vocalists, integrating the human voice as a narrative element within his musical universe.
In addition to having music released on major streaming platforms and maintaining a strong social media presence, Herrera actively creates content that documents his life and artistic journey as a Latin American musician studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Through vlogs and behind-the-scenes content, some of which have reached 100k+ views, he has been able to connect with and motivate many young Latin artists who aspire to study at Berklee, move to the United States, and pursue a career in music.
Diego Herrera will be performing as part of Berklee’s Summer in the City 2026 concert series. View series schedule.
