David Rivera is a Puerto Rican musician with over 10 years of professional experience focused on teaching, arranging, composing, and performing various music styles, including jazz, Latin, gospel, rock, and pop. He has participated in numerous live concerts and studio sessions with Miguel Zenón, Pedro Capo, Obie Bermudez, Luis Enrique, Jerry Medina, William Cepeda, Gonzalo Grau, and Mango Blue. He also has taught at Berklee City Music, Berklee’s Aspire: Five-Week Music Performance Intensive and Day Sessions summer programs, and in the Boston public schools. As the creator and host of the podcast Akulkul, Rivera interviews and performs with a different artist in each episode. The show digs into the artists’ creative processes, captures their inspirations, and unravels stories that have shaped their careers.
