Dakota
As Dakota Cohen undergoes all the love and heartbreak life has to offer, she paints her experiences onto the canvas that is her music. Behind her bright synths and groovy bass lines, Dakota infuses authenticity and vulnerability into her lyrics and ignites it with her powerhouse vocals. Her sound can be characterized as nostalgic and shiny pop with rock and funk twists, as inspired by artists like Bruno Mars and Dua Lipa. Under the guidance of her vocal coach Stevie Mackey (Kelly Rowland, Selena Gomez), Dakota has proven her dual talent as a songwriter and performer. She is the newest recipient of the Best Songwriter Award at Berklee College of Music, an acknowledgment of her musical craft. Just recently, Dakota performed at the Recording Academy Texas Chapter Block Party at SXSW in front of industry leaders and mentors. Possessing an undeniable talent and charisma on stage, this L.A. native performer has landed herself on the iconic stages of Lollapalooza and Milwaukee's Summerfest.
