Aaron Michael is an emerging talent in gospel, soul, and R&B music. Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, his passion for music was ignited within the church, where he laid the foundation for his musical journey. This early exposure helped shape his artistry and led him to Berklee College of Music. During his time there, he earned the respect of his peers and professors alike for his vocal prowess, keen harmonic ear, and leadership skills.

Known for his stellar performances, creative musical arrangements, and directing abilities, he contributed to numerous Berklee productions and collaborated on projects with fellow students. He served as one of the student leaders of the Reverence Gospel Ensemble, under the direction of esteemed professor Dennis Montgomery III and gospel music icon Meachum Clarke. Through this role, he gained attention from gospel lovers and artists, leading to collaborations with Judith McCallister, Kurt Carr, MAJOR, Janae Jones, Jonathan Nelson, Mali Music, Ricky Dillard, Darrel Walls, Vincent Bohanan, and Hezekiah Walker.

His artistry is deeply rooted in his love for God and people, drawing inspiration from themes of human connection, spirituality, resilience, heartbreak, and triumph. A powerhouse vocalist with a distinct tone, he is celebrated for his ability to forge an emotional connection with his audience. This ability has led him to numerous stages, including the Berklee Performance Center, Berklee Cafeteria, Berklee Loft, City Winery Boston, MGM Music Hall, Leader Bank Pavilion, the Lilypad, Spectacle Island, and Boston Symphony Hall. His performances are often described as “incredibly moving” and “uplifting,” leaving listeners feeling inspired and empowered.

Though he is at the beginning of his professional career, Aaron Michael is already making waves. He is currently in the process of recording and releasing original music that will further showcase his artistic vision.

Aaron Michael will be performing as part of Berklee’s Summer in the City 2026 concert series. View series schedule.
