I Protest!—In Memoriam Vuk Kulenovic is a modern classical protest concert in memory of Composition Department professor Vuk Kulenovic, who passed away April 10, 2017. Kulenovic defied the authoritarian government of the former Yugoslavia by holding a protest concert, and a powerful right-wing newspaper subsequently demanded his execution. He fled his home country and found a new home in the United States and at Berklee College of Music. Chamber music compositions by Kulenovic, Kari Juusela, Marti Epstein, Jonathan Holland, and Apostolos Paraskevas will be featured. All of the program pieces have been inspired by protest.
