Academics
With an array of undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as summer, international, and precollege offerings, Berklee College of Music provides options for students of all levels to explore and achieve their artistic, academic, and career potential.
Mark Shilansky, a child of the last millenium, performs his favorite songs from this period of time, with his mostly-Berklee-faculty band. Expect daring jazzy reinventions of familiar tunes, and eerily accurate renderings of less familiar ones.
Mark Shilansky and David Thorne Scott present original songs and arrangements that mix jazz sophistication and improvisation with the groove and storytelling of Americana. Featuring music by Cole Porter, Townes Van Zandt, Michel Legrand, and John Denver.
Cellist Catherine Bent, an alumna of Cirque du Soleil, has performed and recorded with Joe Jackson, Lee Konitz and many others. Ian Coury is an award-winning 10-string bandolim player and composer from Brazil who has shared stages with Brazilian legends like Toninho Horta and Hamilton de Holanda, and is currently studying at Berklee. The two have a musical connection that transcends their backgrounds and crystallizes around their passion for Brazilian choro and forró.
