The Berklee Global Jazz Ambassadors take to the stage in New York with their special guest: Berklee professor and multiple Grammy-winning drum virtuoso Terri Lyne Carrington 83 '03H. The Jazz Ambassadors, five graduate students representing the college’s groundbreaking Berklee Global Jazz Institute, are pianist Eunjeong Hwang (South Korea), drummer Lee Fish (Massachusetts), bassist Maxwell Salinger-Ridley (Massachusetts), trumpeter Andrew McAnsh (Canada), and alto saxophonist Jonathan Suazo (Puerto Rico). The group has been mentored throughout the fall semester by Carrington and Rick DiMuzio, a professor in the Ear Training Department.
A Grammy-winning drummer, composer, and bandleader, Carrington has toured with music luminaries such as Herbie Hancock '86H, Wayne Shorter '99H, Al Jarreau '91H, Stan Getz, and Dianne Reeves '03H, to name a few. She recently returned to her hometown and was appointed Zildjian chair in performance at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.
Note that there is a later performance at 9:30 p.m.
