Explore the repertoire of techniques that transform the one-chord jam into a spontaneous group composition, replete with all the necessary ingredients, including melody, form, dynamics, harmonic rhythm, and soul.
We approach jamming in a “conversational manner,” with the musical goals of staying on topic, changing topics, taking turns leading, and creating additional dialogue and interest. The final result is a musical composition, albeit one composed “on the spot.”
Please note that this is not a technique-building session, but rather it is designed to help all musicians develop their skill sets. All instruments are welcome. If you want to participate, please bring your instrument.
