Senior Seminar in Songwriting: Sync Focus

Course Number
SW-394
Description

The Senior Seminar with Songwriter: Sync Focus is designed to prepare the student for a career as a songwriter for sync (songs placed in visual media such as film, TV, advertisements, etc.). The course is divided into two parts: a small group class designed to guide students in the preparation of their final projects and a large group seminar where students can develop community and meet with industry professionals. This course requires students to construct a small portfolio of works; develop a creator vision; create short and long term action plans; design business materials; register with appropriate CMOs; and discuss, analyze, and research industry norms and contacts. Through the course deliverables students will demonstrate proficiency in songwriting for sync.
