Description

This course will provide instruction focused on the development and integration of the voice into all aspects of a songwriter’s performance. This course will present and reinforce knowledge about the anatomy of the voice and how it integrates with the body to create sound, and will discuss aspects of performance including the development of a personal aesthetic and sound. This course will help students create the artistic expression they desire through the application of technical tools and technique, awareness of personal branding, knowledge of how to engage with an audience, and musical knowledge synthesis and self-awareness in solo, self-accompanied, and group settings. All music within this course will be written, arranged, and performed by the students within the class.
