Survey of Electronic Performance Styles
Course Number
PFSS-391
Description
This course provides a forum for exploring a wide range of contemporary and historical electronic performance styles and their direct application to students working in the electronic digital instrument or electronic performance minor programs. Each week students will explore a particular perspective on electronic performance through recordings, video, and guest artist visits. The class will examine both the aesthetics and technologies in each style and will provide a context for the student’s development as an electronic performer. Students will be encouraged to demonstrate examples of styles and technique covered in weekly peer presentations and performance opportunities.
