Game Programming in Unreal
Unreal is one of the premier AAA game engines in use today for gaming applications, VR and non-gaming applications, such as simulation and visualizations, as well as live performance. This class will introduce students to the workflow and capabilities of this full featured AAA game engine, introduce the concept of modding (modifications or alterations made to a game in order to enhance its capabilities or change aspects of the game) and allow students explore advanced audio features using code in C++ and Unreal’s visual scripting language Blueprint. Using a systematic approach to both common and advanced challenges in game audio, skills learned by students in this class will also apply to other similar game engines, and provide students with an excellent foundation in interactive and adaptive audio.
