Description

This course will explore perspectives and techniques that are unique to mixing in contemporary electronic music productions. Using Ableton Live, students will learn how to effectively use the diverse set of tools offered within the DAW to create compelling and professional sounding mixes. From basic levels and gain staging to complex processing with EQ, dynamics, and time-based effects, this course will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to confidently approach mixing. The course will include regular technique focused assignments that will develop students’ ears and reinforce the topics covered in class. There will also be mix projects where students will be able to apply the course concepts to their own productions.
