This course provides the student with a broad review of copyright, licensing, music publishing, collection and distribution of royalties. Weekly lectures will examine: recording industry practices past and present; deal structures; product distribution; and the impact of rapidly changing technologies and media on the music production business. Topics include project planning, budgets, and navigating the complexities of client relationships.
