Description

This course will explore methods of identifying children with disabilities and gifted children, as well as strategies for adapting or enhancing music lessons to meet the needs of both student populations. Students will learn how to identify the emotional, physical, and intellectual characteristics of gifted and disabled students. They will explore techniques for establishing programs for children with disabilities, as well as ideas for including students with disabilities in existing music programs. Legal issues related to students with disabilities and special education will be discussed and analyzed.
